OPERATION CHRISTMAS BEAR
is an opportunity to show our support for our military. On December 1st, the Veterans Coalition* is organizing the fourthannual Christmas party
for military members and their families. OPERATION CHRISTMAS BEAR brings Christmas joy to our military families, especially families with someone deployed over the holidays. We deliver this joy by bringing the families together in many ways, one of which is that Santa gives each child a teddy bear from his/her missing parent. At the same time, a picture is taken of the youngster with Santa to send to the parent in Iraq or Afghanistan. Another highlight of the party is a wall of pictures of deployed Soldiers in Iraq for the family to pick out their loved one to take home. There will also be games, magicians, Disney characters, Mrs. Claus, face painting, and great food.
o where do you fit in?
OPERATION CHRISTMAS BEAR is completely FREE to our military families, and we rely on donations to cover the costs. A donation of any amount will go a long way to show these special families that we appreciate their sacrifice, and to show them how much our community cares and supports them. A $10 donation will cover the expenses for one child to attend the party. Donations can be sent to the Veterans Coalition at the address below.
